Wild Kingdoms – A Curated Group Exhibition by Anthology and Poetic Tiger Galleries

“Wildwood Heart” is part of Wild Kingdoms, an online group exhibition presented by Anthology Gallery and Poetic Tiger Gallery, running September 4 through September 23, 2026.

The show gathers work where animals and the natural world take center stage – a single powerful gaze, a wild landscape, the quiet strangeness of something caught in one moment. Bold or gentle, real or imagined. More than thirty artists are included, and I’m honored to be one of them.

My contribution is a stag stepping out of the forest and, for one moment, looking you straight in the eyes. That was the whole idea behind the painting: a connection that lasts a second and an eternity at the same time.

The piece began with ink – you can still see the splatters underneath – and then moved into layers of acrylic and oil, with salt worked into the surface to create that sandy texture. Oil is what makes the color glow from within, and it’s still my favorite part of the process.
