There’s a forest where the magnolias bloom impossibly large and the light gathers in the clearing like an open door. A stag has paused there. He’s lifted his head and turned toward you, and in that one still moment, time seems to hold its breath.
We move through our days and the magic passes us by – a slant of light, a wild thing watching, a whole living world just off the path we’re hurrying down. We miss it because we forget to look. This painting is that moment caught and kept: the fleeting second of wonder, frozen before it can slip away, inviting you to stop, to notice, and to step inside.
I built this world in layers – ink washes bleeding into acrylic, then oil worked over collage and modeling paste – so the flowers hold real weight and presence while the trees dissolve into soft atmosphere.

Placement:
This piece brings a sense of wonder and quiet stillness to a room, and its square format makes it easy to place – centered over a bed or a console, anchoring a living room wall, or greeting guests in an entryway. The dreamy blues, blush pinks, and soft greens sit beautifully in serene, light-filled interiors, romantic or nature-inspired spaces, and anywhere you’d want a doorway into something more beautiful. An original for collectors drawn to contemporary work that connects the natural world with something just beyond it.
When you purchase an original painting, I take care of every detail before it leaves my studio. Depending on the piece, that may include final varnishing for long-term protection, sourcing the right custom box for its size, and a thorough inspection before I pack it up. I want it to arrive exactly as it left my hands.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for your painting to ship. Once it's on its way, you'll receive a tracking number by email. I ship via FedEx or UPS with full insurance coverage for the declared value of your piece.
It's rare, but if your painting arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and the damage immediately and contact me within 48 hours. I'll handle the insurance claim and make it right - either a full refund or a replacement if the piece can be recreated.
If you bring your painting home and it's not the right fit, you have 14 days from delivery to return it. The work must be returned in its original packaging and in the same condition it arrived. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Once I receive and inspect the piece, I'll issue your refund within 5-7 business days.
Original paintings purchased on sale are final sale and cannot be returned.
