Spring Within

Spring Within began with an invitation – and a question.

Earlier this year, I was accepted into the Square Foot Show‘s Awaken show, a curated online art event featuring original 12×12 paintings from artists across North America. The theme was Awaken – and I found myself sitting with that word for a while.

Awakening can mean so many things. But what kept coming back to me was spring – not just the spring we see outside, but the one that happens inside us. That quiet moment when something dormant begins to bloom. Eyes closed, turned inward. Your own world coming to life.

That’s how Spring Within was born.

The collection explores inner awakening through feminine figures, florals, and nature’s quieter companions – a butterfly, a bee, a flower in full bloom. Each piece is layered in oil and mixed media, built up slowly through ink washes and acrylics, light finding its way through every layer.
