Holbein Quinacridone Opera Oil Paint: vibrant fluorescent magenta for brilliant florals and striking focal points. This 40ml tube combines Rhodamine B and Quinacridone Magenta for unmatched luminosity in artistic works.
Okay, I need to rave about this Holbein Quinacridone Opera oil paint! I recently added this 40ml tube to my collection, and wow – it’s become my absolute go-to for adding that “wow factor” to my paintings.
This color is BRIGHT. Like, seriously bright. It’s this gorgeous cool-leaning magenta that practically glows on the canvas thanks to the Rhodamine B fluorescent pigment they’ve mixed with the Quinacridone Magenta. The combo gives you this incredible vibrant pink that regular paints just can’t touch.
I’ve found it’s super useful to have a few of these super-bright fluorescents in my palette. They’re like my little secret weapons when I need something to really pop. This one is absolute magic for florals – I used it in a peony painting last week and those flowers practically jumped off the canvas!
Just keep in mind it’s not the most lightfast thing ever (that’s the trade-off with fluorescents), so maybe don’t use it for something that’ll hang in direct sunlight for years. But honestly, for the vibrancy it gives, I’m willing to take that small compromise.
The swatch shows paint mixed with Titanium White (left), pure color from the tube (middle), and mixed with Mars Black (right).
If you’re looking to add some excitement to your oil palette, definitely grab this one. Your flower paintings will thank you!
